Of 316 schools with graduates using the dating website, called Dating Ring, Northwestern University earned the rank of 9th most dateable (or more than just "Northwestern cute") based on an analysis of how many users said they would want to go on a second date with other users who graduated from the Evanston school.
On the other side of the coin, University of Chicago, where some students have walked around with T-shirts that say, "Where the squirrels are cuter than the girls," (and, in the spirit of gender equality, or further gender stereotyping, "Where the squirrels are more aggressive than the boys") was said to have the second "least dateable" student population.
"Do I think it's wise for an 18-year-old to be involved with a 40-year-old? Many of the country's premier universities, including Yale and the University of California, prohibit faculty-student romance, with the penalty of possible termination for faculty who violate the policy."We were all incredibly distressed by that incident," she said.The new policy says it is unacceptable for professors to enter into a romantic or sexual relationship with a student for whom they have "or should reasonably expect to have in the future" any teaching, evaluative or supervisory responsibility.In either of the same department cases, there is a concern of what happens if the relationship breaks up badly.There is a good possibility of bad feelings within the department, but this is true if a dual hired pair goes through a divorce, or two tenure track faculty fall in love.
